Barsac, a particular geology

The vineyards of the château de Myrat estate are cultivated on a soil made of 30 cm of clay laying on a fissured limestone bedrock. It ensure a natural draining.

Vine is the only plant that could develop and find the best conditions to produce quality grapes. Its roots are going deep into the stone to draw water and organic elements.

The typical limestone plateau of Barsac gives to the growths located on this village as the château de MYRAT estate, a particular and very appreciated freshness and minerality.

That is why our wines can choose the Sauternes appellation as well as the Barsac appellation.
